Luxmi Tea MD Rudra Chatterjee takes over as ICC president

Kolkata: Rudra Chatterjee, managing director, Luxmi Tea Company, took over as the president of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) at the 90th Annual General Meeting of the body, which was held on Friday.

Mayank Jalan, chairman & managing director, Keventer Agro Ltd., has been elected as the senior vice-president of ICC, whereas Vikash Agarwal, president, Rupa & Co. Ltd. has been elected as the vice-president.

Rudra Chatterjee is also the chairman of Obeetee, India's largest carpet company, apart from being the managing director of Luxmi Tea Company Pvt. Ltd., director of Makaibari, Biswa Bangla Marketing Ltd., Banglar Dairy, Manor & Mews, UK and Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd.

He has also worked in the New York office of Booz Allen Hamilton, a management consulting firm.

Chatterjee had graduated from Columbia Business School. In addition, he is part of the faculty at IMI Kolkata and guest lecturer at IIM, Kolkata.

Mayank Jalan, chairman and managing director, Keventer Agro Ltd. (KAL), joined the company in April 2004. A first-class degree holder in Mechanical Engineering from University College of London, Mayank also has a degree in Business Finance from the prestigious London School of Economics.

He holds important offices across a number of industry forums and is also the Honorary Consul of Ireland in Kolkata.

Vikash Agarwal is a Commerce Graduate from St Xavier's College, Kolkata and has acquired a Diploma in Marketing from University of California, USA, before joining the company as President. He was invited to Champions of Change, an initiative by the NIITI Aayog, as part of a select group of entrepreneurs from around the country.

Agarwal is also the director in Neo Metaliks Ltd. He is associated with Young President Organisation (YPO), acting as a board member of the Calcutta Chapter, The Bengal Rowing Club, Calcutta Swimming Club and Royal Calcutta Turf Club.
