Aradeep's police custody extended

He was produced before the Bidhannagar court in this connection. He had been practicing as a fake cancer specialist and used to run a clinic in New Town.

During interrogation, the accused initially claimed that on the basis of research works on cancer, he prescribes medicines to patients.

Later, he, however, broke down in the face of rigorous police interrogation and admitted his guilt. Aradeep was arrested on June 29 after the police received a complaint that he was practicing as a cancer specialist at Lake Town without having any valid certificate.

The National Institute of Homeopathy where he was admitted for homeopathy study had also confirmed that his claim as a cancer researcher is completely false.
