Police arrested three persons including a woman on charges of running fake railway job racket on Friday from Baguihati.
The team of investigators arrested Pallavi Jayantilal Shah (40), Patel Kiritbhai (44) and Raghu Sardar (37) from an apartment off VIP Road.
Investigation revealed that Shah and Kiritbhai, residents of Ahmedabed, took shelter in Baguiati and started a company for giving fake recruitment to unemployed youth.
Sardar, resident of North 24 Parganas used to work as the middleman between Shah, Kiritbhai and the job aspirants.
"This racket deals with fake employment in rail. They duped the people promising ticket collectors' job and took money from them. They successfully managed to escape in each of their operations," said a police officer. It will be recalled that a vigilance team of Eastern Railway recently had unearthed a fake job racket and arrested five persons including a railway employee from the Old Koilaghata building of the Eastern Railways.
Bidhannagar City Police will study the case of Koilaghat as the investigators suspected that the accused persons in that case may be connected with Shah, Kiritbhai and Sardar. It may be recalled that the Koilaghat racket had duped many job-seekers with false promises of jobs in different departments under rail ministry.
