Major reshuffle in IPS cadre of Bengal

In a major reshuffle in the IPS cadre in Bengal, IG South Bengal and Superintendent of Police (SP) of North 24 Parganas have been shifted following the trouble that broke out at Basirhat and its adjoining areas.
Sanjay Singh, who was director of the Directorate of Economic Offences, has become the new ADG and IGP South Bengal replacing Ajey Mukund Ranade, who has been made the IG of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
C Sudhakar, who was deputy commissioner (headquarters) of Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, has been made the new SP of North 24 Parganas district. He replaced Bhaskar Mukherjee, who was sent to Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate as deputy commissioner of Airport Division.
Tanmay Ray Chowdhury, who is an officer of DIG rank and posted as deputy director of the Directorate of Economic Offences, will be supervising the work of North 24 Parganas.
Similarly, Bharat Lal Meena, who is the DIG of the Presidency range, will be supervising the work of superintendents of police of Baruipur Police
District, Diamond Harbour Police District, Sundarban Police District and Hooghly (rural).
Santosh Pandey has been made the deputy commissioner (headquarters) of Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate. He was earlier the DC of Zone I in the same commissionerate. There is another change in the commissionerate – K Sabari Raj Kumar has been made the DC Zone I.
Bibhuti Bhusan Dash, who was in compulsory waiting, has been made the new director of the Directorate of Economic Offences.
Gangeswar Singh, who was ADG and IGP of the Intelligence Branch, has become the ADG and IGP of Enforcement Branch.
Sanjay Chander the principal secretary (coordination) of the Home and Hill Affairs Department has become ADG and IGP of the Intelligence Branch.
Anil Kumar the IGP (organisation) of the state police has been brought in the post of secretary (coordination) of the Home and Hill Affairs Department.
