ED notice: Sovan says 'will take necessary action'

On receiving the notice from Enforcement Directorate to appear before it in connection with Narada case, Mayor Sovan Chatterjee said he would take appropriate action.

Chatterjee, who received the notice on Thursday, said he could not follow it because of its ambiguity. He said he would take appropriate action on the matter.

Talking to newsmen at the headquarters on SN Banerjee Road, Chatterjee said: "I have received the letter from ED today (Thursday) and could not follow its content. I will take appropriate action." He said they would have asked me to appear before them today or tomorrow adding that it "would not affect functioning of KMC."

ED has also asked two other party leaders, Sultan Ahmed and his brother Iqbal Ahmed, party's MLA to appear before it in connection with the case.
