Locals stop BJP leaders from entering RG Kar Hospital

Tension ran high at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on Thursday morning when a clash broke out the between BJP leaders and the local residents when the latter opposed the entry of the leaders to the hospital to meet the family members of a person who the BJP leaders claim, died in Baduria clash.
People staged a demonstration in front of BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and state unit president Dilip Ghosh on Thursday when they had gone to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital to meet the victim's relatives.
After the local BJP activists came to know that their leaders were gheraoed by the local residents, they rushed to the spot and this led to a scuffle between the two groups. The incident triggered tension among the relatives of the patients who went to the hospital to see their dear ones. After being informed, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Kartik Ghosh, a leader of BJP's ward committee was admitted to the hospital after he received injuries during a clash that broke out in Baduria few days ago. Ghosh succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. As the news of his death reached the ears of the BJP's top leaders, they went to the hospital to meet the victim's family members. The local people stopped them from entering the hospital as they no longer want politics inside the hospital campus. Ghosh was brought to the city hospital on Tuesday in a critical condition.
BJP leader Locket Chatterjee who also went to the hospital engaged in verbal dual with the police officers who stopped her from entering the hospital. Some of the BJP leaders threatened to stage a demonstration with the dead body. Police did not allow the BJP activists and the family members of the victim to take the body to Baduria, the victim's home town as it would further complicate the situation.
