Cops arrest yet another fake doctor from Jadavpur

The police arrested a fake doctor from Jadavpur in South Kolkata on Wednesday.

The accused Subrata Majumder was remanded to police custody till July 7 when produced before the court.

Police initiated a probe against the doctor after receiving a complaint from one Srabanti Majumder. Police went to the chamber of the doctor at Kusum Medical Hall at Bijaygarh in Jadavpur. Police collected all documents from the doctor and verified it from the West Bengal Medical Council and it was confirmed that he was using a fake registration number.

He used to claim himself to be an MBBS doctor. Degree including MBBS (Cal) and MRCS (Edn) were found on the prescriptions in which he advised medicines to his patients.

When interrogated by the police, Subrata had failed to give any satisfactory answer and didn't even tell that from where he had managed to get forged certificates with a fake registration number.

It may be mentioned that the CID had arrested more than 15 fake doctors so far from different parts of the state.
