Class XI student beaten up by teacher, hospitalised

A Class XI girl student from Tarakeswar was beaten up by a teacher at her school as she was talking to her classmates during the class.
The victim identified as Razia Khatun has fallen ill and had to be admitted to a primary health centre at Tarakeswar. The doctors who treated the victim said that she is traumatised after the incident.
The victim also told her family members that she did not want to go to school after the way she had been insulted and beaten up by her teacher. The family members of the victim lodged a complaint in the local police station on the basis of which police started an investigation. They are interrogating the accused teacher in this connection.
The victim's younger sister who also studies in the same class with the victim said that she was talking to a classmate sitting next to him and was laughing.
As a result of this incident, the accused teacher beat her up. When the victim ran away from the place and took refuge in the toilet, the accused allegedly went to the toilet and beat her up there. Police have started a probe in this regard.
In another incident, some local residents at Bulbulchandi area of Malda staged a demonstration at Bulbulchandi Girija Sundari Vidyamandir after a school student was allegedly beaten up by a teacher.
Police rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control. The Block Development Officer also went to the spot. The victim student, Sourav Das was taken to Malda Medical College and Hospital for treatment. It has been alleged that four school teachers were being roughed up by the mob. The school authorities have, however, said that the accused student threw a pen at a girl student in the class during the class.
It has been alleged that the student fell unconscious after being beaten up. After being informed, the family members of the victim rushed to the school and took the victim to a local health centre.
