Two held for trying to traffick 6 minor boys

Police arrested two persons on charges of human trafficking from Siliguri More in Raiganj on Monday. The accused persons were trying to sell off six minor boys to another state.
According to a district police source, these people were trying to take six boys to Jharkhand. Their intension was to take these boys to the Jharkhand border and sell them off there.
Acting on a tip-off, the investigators stopped a bus at Siliguri More and arrested those men. The six boys, who were taken to the Jharkhand border, were rescued by the police.
These boys were given shelter at a destitute home and they will be sent to their houses soon. The investigators learnt that the boys were promised to be given jobs at a garment factory. The traffickers planned to sell them in Jharkhand as one buyer had assured them to give Rs 50,000 for each of the boys.
"During the interrogation, the traffickers told the police that they took these boys from poor families and brought them to Raiganj by promising jobs. They had even paid money to their parents," said a police officer.
"The age of these boys are ranging from 12 to 14 years. We took them to a hospital for examining their health condition," a police source said.
