Couple found dead inside house at Baruipur

A couple was found dead inside their house at Baruipur in South 24 Parganas on Sunday morning.

The victims have been identified as Saidul Sardar (28) and Yasmina Bibi (24). The incident spread tension among the local residents who found their room locked from the inside. As the couple did not come out of their room since the morning, some of the local residents peeped through their window and saw Saidul hanging from the ceiling while his wife was lying on the floor. Local residents informed the matter to the local police station and police reached the spot and broke open the door and recovered the bodies.

According to the preliminary investigation, police suspect that Saidul, who was a carpenter, committed suicide after killing his wife. Police came to know that the two had been quarrelling for quite some times. Their marriage had taken place nearly two years ago.

After a quarrel, the woman had gone to her parental house but was brought back by Saidul a few days ago. The local residents told the police that they often heard the victims involved in quarrels. The woman did not mix with the neighbours and used to keep herself confined in the room while her husband was away from home. Police are trying to know the reason for their quarrels.
