Man arrested for cheating on pretext of providing jobs

Police arrested a 45-year-old man from Gariahat on charges of cheating hundreds of youth after assuring help to get government jobs.
Police said the accused Subrata Adhikari used to give advertisement in dailies mentioning that there are vacancies in Agricultural Development Trust of India that doesn't exist.
As directed in the advertisements, the job aspirants had applied online for the job. The accused had contacted 300 of them and asked them to deposit Rs 1,600 each to go through an induction training programme.
The training was organised at Bhowanipore. But only none were given jobs after the training. Tathagata Mukherjee(23), an MBA, had lodged a complaint with police. Subsequently, the accused was arrested and remanded to police custody till July 4.
