Will give full support to those selling mihidana, sitabhog: CM

The state government will provide every assistance to traders selling mihidana and sitabhog, Burdwan's quintessential sweets, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said here on Thursday afternoon.
She has asked the traders to get in touch with Rajiva Sinha, additional Chief Secretary, Industries, and sit with him next week to discuss the issue.
Reacting to the traders' demands to make mihidana and sitabhog globally popular like Kanyashree, she said: "You should prepare the sweet items maintaining all hygienic parameters. Sitabhog and mihidana are being sold from Biswa Bangla outlets. People come to Burdwan to buy sitabhog and mihidana and the misti hub will help traders to further popularise the products."
Rajiva Sinha said sometime back the industry department sat with the experts from the Indian packaging industry and discussed the matter.
They spoke about certain parameters related to production of the sweets in a hygienic manner.
