Teacher arrested for molesting Class VII student

Police arrested a teacher of a school at Baruipur in South 24 Parganas on Thursday on charges of molesting a student of the school. Police said that the victim disclosed to her parents that she was subjected to sexual harassment in her school.

The victim's family members told the police that the girl, who is a student of Class VII, was in a traumatised state when she returned home on the day of the incident took place. Her parents had informed the school authorities. But no proper step was taken by the authorities in this connection, alleged the victim's family members. The victim's parents went to the school and gheraoed the headmaster of the school as no action was taken against the teacher. Subsequently, a complaint was lodged with the local police station. The police went to the school and arrested the teacher.
