Woman found hanging from fan at in-laws' house

Mystery shrouds the death of a housewife whose body was found hanging from the ceiling fan at her in-laws' house at Canning in South 24Parganas.
The incident triggered tension among the local residents after the incident came to light. The victim, Suparna Koyal (20), was found dead inside her room on Thursday morning. Her in-laws spotted the body and informed the matter to the police who went to the spot and rushed the victim to the Canning sub-divisional hospital where the doctors pronounced her brought dead. The local residents also rushed to the spot after hearing about the incident.
Police said that the victim, daughter of one Sanat Mitra, a resident of Canning, got married to one Palash Koyal, a resident of Tangrakhali village. A few months ago, the victim gave birth to a baby girl following which she had been suffering from abdomen pain.
Police said that the woman had told her family members about the matter but none took her to the doctor. Police are investigating if the victim had committed suicide after she failed bear the pain.
Police came to know from the local residents that the woman had not been tortured at her in-laws' house. The local people were also shocked to learn that the woman had committed suicide. Police are investigating the actual cause of her death. However, they are also not ruling out the possibility of any foul play behind her death. Her body has been sent to a nearby hospital for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the cops are interrogating the family members of the victim in this connection.
