One held for lewd comments to woman student

Bidhannagar Cyber Crime police station arrested a law student on charges of sending derogatory comments through social media to a Delhi-based woman.
Police said, Tushar Kumar Biswas, the 33-year-old accused person was arrested on Sunday. The accused person was studying in a reputed law college in the city till few months ago. But investigators came to know that he was suspended from the college for his bad behaviors with teachers.
Police learnt that the accused person knew the woman since 2008 when she came to Kolkata for higher studies. He started sending insulting comments to her through social media during the time when the woman was staying in Bidhannagar.
"We have arrested him on the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim woman. The charges under Information Technology Act have been leveled against the accused person by the police," said a police source. The source also said that Biswas came from Bangladesh to Kolkata for higher studies. He was originally a resident of Magura district in Bangladesh. He took a rented accommodation at Titagarh in North 24 Parganas.
The complainant alleged that the accused person was repeating his crime despite several requests from her. She had no other option but to lodge an FIR with the Cyber Crime police station as the man recently had threatened her to disturb her more.
