The meeting has been convened to assess the development that has taken place till date under the supervision of the development boards. The Chief Minister will also be asking the representatives of the boards that what more needs to be done for the overall development of the respective areas under each of the development boards.
It is learnt that chairmen and vice-chairmen of all the 15 development boards including the Lepcha Development Board, Bhutia Development Board and Sherpa Development Board and Tamang Development and Cultural Board will be present in the meeting.
The Chief Minister had taken several initiatives and formed the development boards to ensure development in those areas.
She had also announced the formation of separate boards of Kami, Sarki and Domai communities. It may be mentioned that this comes at the time when the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) is creating troubles in the Hills and as a result, the smooth flow of the execution of development work is getting affected.
