Woman gang-raped in Old Malda

A woman was gang-raped by some miscreants at Sahapur gram panchayat area in Old Malda. Police have started a case on the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim. Police said that the victim, a housewife was going to Maulipur village hospital to consult a doctor. When she was walking along the road at Bulbulchandi area some youth told her that they were ready to take her to the hospital on their motorcycle. The victim accepted their proposal as she was feeling weak and thought it would be immensely helpful if someone dropped her to the hospital. The woman told the police that the two accused took her to an abandoned building and raped her while threatening her with a sharp weapon. She told her family members about the incident after returning home. The woman later lodged a complaint in the police station.

Police are conducting raids to nab the culprits who are still at large.
