Local club members threaten saree showroom owner

Some members of a local club threatened the owner of a saree showroom at College Street and demanded a donation of Rs 50,000. The accused persons came near the showroom and started abusing the owner. The main accused, along with some of his associates, damaged some banners and hoardings outside the shop. A complaint has been lodged with the police in this regard. However, the police are yet to arrest the accused. Meanwhile, a source said that the cops are probing the matter from several angles and will soon take action.
