Fake doctor arrested from Kidderpore

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Saturday arrested another fake doctor Ajay Tiwari from Karl Marx Sarani in Kidderpore. He had been allegedly practicing with a fake medical registration.

According to a senior CID official, Tiwari was attached to Kothari Medical Center.

This is the sixth arrest made by the CID so far in connection with doctors working with fake registration numbers. He was the first among the 14 doctors who will soon be interrogated in this connection. It may be mentioned that Howrah police too have arrested one fake doctor in the probe so far.

CID had earlier said that around 500 fake doctors are functioning in the state among whom, 14 are under the scanner of the probing agency.
