Bidhannagar cops start special probe into fake job rackets

Following increasing incidents of fake government job racket in Salt Lake, the Bidhannagar City Police started a special investigation. A team of investigators including the cyber crime specialists started investigation into cases took place in Salt Lake.

Recently, police arrested a person, identified as Debraj Pal from Murshidabad. Pal was the kingpin of a job racket and allegedly took thick amount of money from job aspirants assuring them to provide jobs in the state Education department.

The investigators found that many cheaters like Pal took money from unemployed youth searching government jobs in Salt Lake. The unemployed men and women kept faith on the assurance of fraudsters and gave them money without doubting their capability. But most of these fraudsters escaped after getting money or repeatedly avoided their clients.

Bidhannagar City Police have successfully cracked down on several such cases. The investigators are now getting clues from these cases, a source said.
It may be recalled that the cyber crime cell of Bidhannagar police unearthed a fake recruitment racket and arrested three persons from Dumdum Park in 2014.

The police claimed that the fake job racket, which used to run with the help of fake websites, duped several people. The gang leader was identified as Avik Kumar Gupta, resident of Rajmahal in Jharkhand. His associates were also arrested. This case was one such early case that took place in Salt Lake. But at least 50 such cases tool place in Salt Lake in the last three years.
