Chandrima Bhattacharya visits hospitals to take stock

Chandrima Bhattacharya, Minister of State for Health, visited two crucial hospitals in East Mindapore to take stock of the situation and see whether directions given by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee are being followed properly or not.
Bhattacharya on Friday visited Tamluk Hospital and Haldia Hospital where she went to different departments of the hospitals and
queried about different aspects of the hospitals starting from the infrastructure to manpower.
She also held a meeting with concerned officials of both the hospitals and will be preparing a report that will be submitted to the Chief Minister who will take necessary decisions and would look into the matter if any initiative is required for further development of both the healthcare units in East Midnapore. During the meeting, she enquired about the daily activities of the hospitals.
Bhattacharya said: "I visited the hospital following the instruction of the Chief Minister and checked whether the instructions given by the Chief Minister for smooth functioning of the hospitals are being properly followed or not. I will be submitting a report in this connection to the Chief Minister."
She further said that she will be visiting all the hospitals in the state to check whether directions are being followed properly for smooth functioning of the hospitals. She will also find out whether people are getting inconvenienced during their visit to hospitals.
It may be mentioned that after the change of guard, Mamata Banerjee government had taken several steps to ensure better health services for people.
Fair Price Medical Shops and Fair Price Pathological Centres have been set up in several hospitals across the state.
Most importantly, multi-superspecialty hospitals have also been set up in districts so that people from there do not have to travel far to Kolkata to get better treatment.
