Fire at Metiabruz transformer, none injured

A fire broke out in a transformer of CESC on Mudially Road at Metiabruz on Thursday afternoon.
Police said local people saw smoke billowing from the transformer and informed the local police station. Within a few minutes, the transformer was up in flames.
Three fire tenders were pressed into service and firefighters took around an hour to extinguish the fire.
Though the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, according to firefighters, it was an outcome of some electrical disorder in the transformer.
However, no one was injured in the fire. But the total extent of damage is yet to be ascertained.
Hundreds of people had gathered in the area after knowing that fire has broken out in the transformer.
Local policemen had cordoned off a certain portion of the area and helped the firefighters to carry out their work to dousethe flame.
Meanwhile, CESC personnel helped the firefighters and the police to put out the flames.
