4 beaten up on mere suspicion of being child-lifters

Local people beat up four employees of a private mobile phone network company on the mere suspicion that they were child-lifters. The incident took place at Garbeta in West Midnapore.

Police said a child went missing from the area a few days ago which led to tension in the area. The local people had been keeping tabs on any new arrivals in the area.

On Wednesday morning, three employees of the mobile phone network company were resting under a shade after completing their work and the driver of the auto-rickshaw, in which they had arrived there was also present.
All of a sudden around 20 to 30 people from a nearby area came there and before they could understand anything, the mob started beating them up.
