After CM's request and massive response, Café Ekante opens new outlet at Dekho Re

Café Ekante, the well-known restaurant in New Town that has gained immense popularity among foodies in the city, opened its new outlet at Dakho Re on Saturday.
The restaurant, which was renamed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was set up at Eco Park. Quality food, along with the human touch of the employees, has made the restaurant very popular and it is difficult to get a table on weekends and on special occasions if seats are not booked in advance.

Banrerjee had urged Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) officials to open an outlet at Dakho Re, a food court that has been opened at Lal Dighi opposite Writers' Building. Accordingly, a stall was opened on Saturday evening. Café Ekante also supplies food to the New Town Business Club, the only one-of-its-kind to be set up by the state government.

The employees of Café Ekante are given regular training on how to deal with guests. The restaurant has proved wrong the general view that state-run restaurants fail to compete with their privately owned counterparts.

On May 31, Café Ekante will celebrate the traditional festival of Jamai Sasthi as 'Jampesh Jamai Sasthi', when a special buffet priced at Rs 499 a plate will be served to the guests. The food will be available from 1 pm to 4 pm in the afternoon and again from 7 pm to 10 pm in the evening at the Eco Park branch of Café Ekante.

Coconut water will be served as a welcome drink. The mouthwatering menu includes basonti pulao, dal puri, topsey fry, datiwala begun bhaja, pur bhora potol bhaja,
echorer kofta curry, bhaja maslar aloor dam, kasano khasir mangsho, chitol macher miuttahya, chutney and sweet dishes that includes raj bhog and misti doi.
During Durga Puja and Christmas, Café Ekante offers a special menu to its guests.
