One arrested for duping man of Rs 80k on pretext of job

Bidhannagar City Police arrested a person on charges of taking money promising to provide job in the West Bengal Board of Primary Education.

The victim has lodged a complaint with Bidhannagar East police station alleging that one Pradipta Modak (43) took Rs 80,000 with a promise to give him a job in this department. After receiving specific complaint, the Bidhannagar police started a thorough investigation in this regard and arrested the person from his residence. "Angshuk Sanyal lodged a complaint with the police alleging that he was duped of the amount with false promises. On the basis of the complaint, the accused has been arrested from Bhadreswar where from he had been operating a fake job racket for quite sometime," a senior police officer said. Later, West Bengal Board of Primary Education had also lodged a complaint with the police station.

When Sanyal did not get a job, he wanted to know from the accused about the status of his job. Following the incident, Sanyal was handed over an appointment letter. When he went to the office and produced his appointment letter, he was told that the appointment letter was not
original. This had prompted the victim to lodge a complaint with the police.
