The family members of the two B Tech students who died after drowning in a pond situated inside the campus of the Indian Maritime University at Taratala on Friday have alleged that there could be some foul play behind the death of the duo and therefore, urged an independent probe into the incident.
The victims' family members also raised questions over their death as blood stainswere found on the body of one of the victims. They alleged how can there be injury marks when a person dies after being drowned in the pond.
The victims identified as Animesh Roy (20) and Anshu Shreevastav suddenly fell in the pond. They did not know how to swim as a result of which they drowned in the pond. It was learnt that another student fell in the pond but he managed to survive as he knew swimming.
