Next 48 hours to be more sultry: Weathermen

The sultry and discomfort weather will continue for the next 48 hours in the city and its adjoining districts.

According to the meteorological department, the temperature has gone up in the past few days and on Thursday the maximum temperature was 36.8 degrees Celsius which is 1 degree above normal.
With humidity remaining high, the sultry and discomfort weather continues to prevail in and around the city. However, there was slight

rainfall in districts including Murshidabad and Birbhum. There are chances of sporadic rainfall in these areas in the next 48 hours.

The climate in the city and its adjoining districts is remaining partly cloudy in the mornings. But the temperature goes up when the sky becomes clear within a few hous.

The maximum temperature recorded in Bankura and Sriniketan was 38.8 degrees Celsius and 36.1 degree Celsius respectively. The temperature in both the places was normal. But the discomfort level in both the places was too high as the humidity was high too.

Pedestrians in the city were found taking rest after crossing a certain distance and they were found splashing water on their faces.

The policemen, too, were having a tough time as they were performing their duty under the scorching heat. The sale of sunglasses and caps has gone up too.

Doctors have suggested to carry a bottle of water while travelling and not to walk long hours under the sun at a stretch.
