Miscreants beat up man, daughter; cops sense old rivalry

Miscreants beat up a person and his seven-year-old daughter at Rajarhat's Chhotogachi on Wednesday morning. Police said, Gopinath Das, the father was going with her daughter in a bicycle when the miscreants stopped them on the road.

"The miscreants beat the father-daughter duo and fled from the area. The miscreants were probably local promoters who had an old rivalry with Das," said a police officer.

The local residents rescued the father and his daughter from the roadside and took them to a hospital.

Meanwhile, police initiated an investigation. "The culprits will soon be arrested," said a police officer.
