Kolkata: Subham Yadav from Munger in Bihar is not as young as the little boy in the 1994 American family comedy "Baby's Day Out" but his clever act ensured his safe return to his parents after being kidnapped by four persons and also helped the police in indentifying the criminals.
The 10-year-old Subham was kidnapped from Munger in Bihar after he had left his home for school four days ago. He had left his home at around 8.30 am on Thursday. On his way to school, he met four persons, who had befriended him and gave him a spiked chocolate.
Like all other kids, Subham too couldn't control himself when chocolate was offered to him. But he did not know that one bite of chocolate would be dangerous for him.
He felt sleepy soon after eating the chocolate and when he regained his senses he found himself in a train. However, he found the four persons were also sleeping in the train. He silently moved out of the compartment and after getting down on the platform he realised that he was at Guwahati. The boy had thought on his feet and picked up a mobile phone and a watch of the kidnappers which would help the police identify the culprits.
Without wasting any time, the boy boarded another train from Guwahati in which he reached Malda. Again from Malda, he reached Howrah Station in another train.
At Howrah Station, officers of the Railway Protection Force found the boy moving around aimlessly. They approached the boy and came to know about the entire incident.
When the boy was desperately trying to flee the clutches of the culprits, his parents in Munger had been searching everywhere. A missing complaint was also lodged by his parents in Munger.
Finally, the RPF officers contacted his father, Manoj Kumar Yadav, and informed him that his son was in their safe custody.
His parents from Munger reached Howrah station on Sunday and took him back home. The boy left with his father after handing over the wrist watch and mobile phone of the accused that will be helpful for the investigating officers in their probe.
The police are trying to ascertain whether the boy was kidnapped with a motive of trafficking or if there is any other purpose behind it.
