Job racket busted in Salt Lake, four held
Kolkata: The Cyber Crime Police Station of Bidhannagar City Police busted a racket that duped several persons under the pretext of promising job in primary schools and arrested four persons including a publicity assistant posted in Public Grievance Cell at Bikash Bhavan and a retired Headmaster of a primary school.
According to police sources, the complainant was contacted by one Mosharof Ali, who is a retired head master of Kazirabad Free Primary School situated at Baruipur East, South 24-Parganas for handing out appointment letter for the post of a teacher and accordingly had taken Rs 40,000 from the complainant infront of Bikash Bhavan on September 20. But when the complainant demanded the appointment letter, the accused pretended that he was going to his office at Bikash Bhavan and disappeared. The complainant Ranjit Roy, a resident of Basanti in South 24 Parganas soon realised that he has been cheated and lodged a complaint.
The police took up the investigation on the basis of this complaint and at first arrested Mosharof Ali, alias Mosharof Chowdhury (65), of Gazirhat in Baruipur.
After interrogation of Ali, the sleuths held raided Garia Station area and arrested two others — Rama Nanda Chowdhury of Santikunja Housing at Garia station Road and Ramen Sinha of Renia in Sonarpur.
According to police sources, Chowdhury is a suspended primary teacher of Hachimpur F P school at Joynagar in South 24-Parganas while Sinha has a diploma in hardware and networking.
Police have interrogated the three and arrested one Biswajit Roy Choudhury (56), who is a publicity assistant posted in Public Grievance Cell at Bikash Bhavan.
