ISKCON for action against body for donation demand

(ISKCON) will take legal action against an organisation for demanding donations from people for its Janmashtami celebrations.

The organization called ISKCON Prabhupad Ashram based in Egra ( east Midnapore) is collecting donations from people for the forthcoming Janmashtami celebrations at ISKCON, Mayapur, which is attended devotees all over the world.

The co-ordinator of ISKCON, Mayapur, world headquarter of the institution, Jagadhartia Das has said that legal action will be initiated against the organization.

The matter came to light after some ISKCON officials found some pamphlets and receipts for collecting donations from people.

However, the receipts do not have any number.

International Society for Krishna Consciousness has warned people not to fall in their trap and requested that no one should give any donations to them as the organisation is not affiliated to ISKCON Mayapur in any way.

"The organisation is not authorised by ISKCON to collect funds as the management has given no permission to them and they

are not even our authorised preaching centre," said Jagadhartia Das.

Alay Govind Das from ISKCON Management has got in touch with the state government and urged it to take stern action against the organisation which is cheating people by demanding donations and bringing disrepute to a prestigious global institution like ISKCON.
