ISKCON closes guest houses in Mayapur
Kolkata: International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) has closed their guest houses at its headquarters at Mayapur till April 15, in view of the Coronavirus endemic.
All the bookings that have been made after March 21 remain cancelled. Devotees from all over the globe visit the Mayapur temple and stay at the guest houses. The bookings are made globally.
Two foreign devotees at Mayapur who were suffering from fever along with running nose and nausea had been tested COVID 19 negative. Thousands of devotees had attended the Dol Jatra festival which is the birth anniversary of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu at Mayapur.
Moreover, the ISKCON authorities have curtailed the darshan time from Thursday. The devotees can visit the temple from 10 am to 1 pm and again from 5 pm to 7 pm. The devotees can enter the campus, have darshan and leave the campus. Other than the designated route, all other parts of the Mayapur campus will be closed. The visitors can have only packed prasad.
All the visitors will be thermal scanned at the entry point to the campus. They will be subjected to compulsory disinfection before entering the temple. The temple walls and the floor will be washed twice a day with disinfecting soap and water.
