Industrial Development Board to hold meeting today

Kolkata: Bengal Industrial Development and Promotion Board will discuss issues related to the developments that have taken place after the Hill Business Summit in its meeting that is going to be held on Wednesday at Nabanna.
The Board looks after the necessary steps to be taken for development and promotion of industry in Bengal. Sources said the meeting will be held at Nabanna from 3 pm onwards and top brass of the state government will discuss various industry-related issues including matters which have come up after the Hill Business Summit. Amit Mitra, the state Finance, Commerce and Industry minister, would also be present in the meeting besides Chief Secretary Malay De and additional Chief Secretaries along with principal secretaries of the concerned departments.
It is learnt that the top brass of the departments including Commerce and Industry, Finance, Micro, Small, Medium Enterprise and Textiles, Power, Information Technology, Land and Land Reforms, Transport, Fisheries, Animal Resource Development and Tourism will be present.
Besides discussing issues related to the Hill Business Summit, there will also be discussions on matters related to different incentive schemes.
The state government has taken several steps in the past six-and-a-half-years to ensure investment.
Bengal has acquired the first position among all others in terms of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Moreover, steps have also been taken to promote the infrastructure available in the state to set up various sorts of industries.
