In a bid to escape cops, truck kills youth in Asansol

Iron rod pierced into the throat of a youth at Asansol on Tuesday night while he was riding a motorbike.
A truck, which was chased by a police jeep, was carrying a bunch of iron rods.
The victim youth could not check the speed of the bike, when the truck driver suddenly pressed the brake and stopped in front of him.
The sharp end of the rod pierced into the youth's throat and he died on the spot.
The eye-witnesses of the incident said that the truck was trying to escape from the spot. But local people and the policemen caught the killer vehicle.
The driver was beaten up by the local residents. The angry mob snatched him from the policemen. Nasim Khan (38), the victim was taken to a hospital. He was declared brought dead.
On Wednesday, Aakil Shekh, a middle-aged man and his aunt Rehana were going to Dubrajpur from Murarai. The man was riding the bike and his aunt was sitting pillion. Aakil stopped the bike at a road crossing.
Suddenly, a bus hit them from behind while the signal was open for the vehicles. The duo came under the rear wheels of bus and both of them died on the spot. Police said that none of them were wearing a helmet.
In another case, four persons were injured after a road accident at Purulia's Raghunathpur on Tuesday night.
A trekker which was carrying eight persons, including the driver, side turned at a crossing in Raghunathpur which caused this accident.
