IIIT Kalyani secures 85% placement for its first batch
Kolkata: Eighty five percent of the first batch of students (2014-18) who passed out from the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kalyani have got placements and two out of 40 passouts have joined premier educational institutions in for higher studies.
The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kalyani, started functioning in 2014. The first batch (2014-2018) has just passed out. Two students have joined IIM Bangalore and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Banglaore.
Expressing satisfaction over the performance of the students, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had asked Debashis Sen, Additional Chief Secretary, IT department, in the administrative review meeting held in Ranaghat, Nadia, on Wednesday to upload the information on social
media channels.
Some companies where the selected students have got jobs are Apt Software, Smartprix, Infologitech systems etc.
Seats are filled up through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) after qualifying the JEE (Main) examination administered by the Central Board of Secondary
Education (CBSE).

While construction has started in the land provided, the Institute is currentlyrunning from the temporary campus at Webel IT Park, Kalyani.
