IAS reshuffle: Saumitra Mohan is Addl Secy of Health dept

In a major reshuffle in the IAS cadre in Bengal, the district magistrates (DM) of six districts have been changed.
Saumitra Mohan, who was the DM of Burdwan, has been appointed the Additional Secretary of the state Health department. Mohan replaces Pritha Sarkar, who in turn becomes the new Commissioner of Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation. Alokesh Prosad Roy, who was the Commissioner of the civic body, became the DM of Purulia district.
P B Salim, the DM of South 24 Parganas, has become the new secretary of the Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education department.
The new DM of South 24 Parganas will be Ratnakar Rao, who was earlier the DM of Murshidabad district.
The new secretary of the Food and Supplies department is Manoj Agarwal. He was earlier the secretary of the Home and Personnel and Administrative Reforms department. He was also the chairman of the West Bengal Highway Development Corporation Limited (WBHDCL).
Indevar Pandey has been made the chairman of the WBHDCL. Pandey has been given the additional charge, in addition to continuing as secretary of the Public Works department. The secretary of Fisheries department Prabhat Mishra has become the new secretary of Home and Personnel and Administrative Reforms department.
Anil Verma, who was the secretary of Food and Supplies department, has become the secretary of the Self Help Group and Self Employment department.
Tanmoy Chakraborty has become the DM of Malda, while Sharad Dwivedi – who was the DM of Malda – became DM of Murshidabad.
Anurag Srivastava, DM of Darjeeling, has become the DM of Burdwan. Jayshree Das, previously the additional DM of South 24-Parganas, took over as DM of Darjeeling.
