HS concludes peacefully, no case of cheating

Kolkata: The Higher Secondary examination concluded peacefully on Wednesday, with no complaint regarding the examination being reported.

In a press statement issued by Mahua Das, president of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) on Wednesday, it was stated that the entire process of the examination was conducted peacefully by the invigilators, centre-in-charge, centre secretary and venue supervisor, amidst tight security. No incident of cheating or any trouble has been reported from any part of the state, it was mentioned.

It has been stated that as many as 18 mobile phones have been seized from the candidates during the period of examination. Examination had been cancelled for the candidates who were caught with mobile phones inside the centres.

The Misconduct and Malpractice Enquiry Committee will take the final decision on whether the registration of such candidates will be cancelled in due course of time.

The Higher Secondary examination had started on 26 February and ended on March 13. People who were directly or indirectly involved in various processes of conducting the examination, have fulfilled their duties well.

Various agencies of the state government like the Home department, police administration, School Education department and the district administration had extended all possible assistance for smooth running of the examination.

"Some examinees in the districts fell ill on the day of examination, while some others met with minor road accidents on their way to the examination hall. But all these students were given an opportunity to appear for the examination either in hospitals or in special examination centres," Das said.
