Howrah City Police to organise 10-km run on Raising Day

Kolkata: Howrah City Police organised a 10-km run on its Raising Day to create awareness on 'Safe Drive Save Life' and 'Clean and Green' city.

The programme "Run Howrah Run" will be held on September 1 and it will start at 3 pm.

People from all walks of life can take part in the event. An interested person can register through www.livedsports.in to participate in the event. The registration will continue till 5 pm on Friday. One can also contact via WhatsApp number — 9073343247 —for registration.

The 10-km long run will commence at Shibpur Police Line. Everyone has to gather at the venue at least an hour ahead of the event.

The end point of the "Run Howrah Run" is at Belur Math. Winner and participants will be awarded. This year on September 1, Howrah City Police is going to celebrate its 8th Raising Day. This is the first time when the programme "Run Howrah Run" has been organised on the Raising Day of Howrah City Police.

Howrah City Police has initiated making all preparations for the event. All measures will be taken to ensure that participants do not face any problem while running the 10-km stretch from Shibpur Police Line to Belur Math.

At the same time, there will be 21 temporary traffic booths where students of different schools, beneficiaries of Kanyashree Prakalpa and girls, who had undergone the self-defence training under Sukanya project, will take part in a programme to create awareness on 'Safe Drive Save Life'.

They will be pasting 'Safe Drive Save Life' stickers on vehicles. They will also urge people to maintain traffic norms to avoid road accidents.

A team of policemen will also set out for a motorbike rally as a part of the 'Safe Drive Save Life' programme.

They will visit all the 21 traffic booths to create awareness among people. There will also be tableaus to create awareness among people on road safety measures and the necessity of keeping the city 'Clean and Green'.
