Heavy storm, rain disrupt train services

Kolkata: Due to heavy rain and storm, train services had to be suspended on Sealdah-Gede and Sealdah-Shantipur sections of Eastern Railway's Sealdah Division since 6.05 pm on Tuesday.
On the Up line of Ranaghat-Gede section, OHE parted at Aranghata at 6.05pm, while the overhead wire was found hanging at Bogula on the same section at 6.05 pm. On the Ranaghat-Shantipur section, tree branches fell on the railway track affecting movements of train at Phulia at 6.10pm. Tower vans have been deployed to work on war footing for restoration of normal train movements. However, on the Ranaghata-Krishnanagar section train services have been maintained.
On the other sections of Sealdah Division, train services are maintained though the trains may be slightly delayed due to safety stipulations. In Howrah Division of Eastern Railway, normal suburban services are maintained.
