Health condition of veteran singer Dwijen Mukhopadhyay shows signs of improvement

Kolkata: The health condition of singer Dwijen Mukhopadhyay, who was admitted to SSKM Hospital on Saturday following some respiratory distress, has improved. He has, however, been kept under observation at a cabin of Woodburn block.

The doctors at the hospital were concerned over the health condition of the veteran singer.

According to hospital sources, the patient had responded to medicines as showed significant improve in his health condition in the

past two days.

Mukhopadhyay was brought to the hospital on Saturday afternoon after he had complained of respiratory distress and fever. As a result of this, his family members decided to take him to hospital on Saturday.

After his treatment was started, the doctors found that he had been suffering from pneumonia. According to hospital sources, the patient has various age related ailments including high blood pressure, blood sugar, osteoarthritis. The veteran singer has been a chronic patient of COPD.

It may be mentioned that Mukhopadhyay was earlier admitted to SSKM Hospital a month ago with same ailments and was later released from the hospital after a few days.

According to a senior official of SSKM Hospital, the patient's condition is stable but he will be kept under observation.
