Headmaster beaten up by youth in Bhangar

A headmaster of a private school in South 24 Parganas' Bhangar was badly beaten up by a youth triggering tension in the area.
It was learnt that the victim, Khalid Akhtar, the headmaster of Kathalia Eden Institute was returning home on Sunday night when the accused identified as one Mojammel Molla blocked his way and attacked him. Police said that the victim might have protested against the accused who had been consuming alcohol in the area. As the victim asked the accused to stop boozing, he attacked the teacher.

It was learnt that the victim was returning home on his bicycle on Sunday night when he found that the accused was consuming alcohol in the area. As he protested against the incident, the accused got irritated and attacked the teacher. The victim received multiple injuries on his face.
After seeing the incident, some of the local residents rushed to the spot to his rescue. The accused, however, fled the spot immediately after the incident. The local residents took the victim to a nearby health centre where the victim was given primary treatment. The victim lodged a complaint with the police on Monday following which police started an investigation.

Police said that the accused punched the victim on his face following the altercation. The victim teacher lodged a complaint at Kashipur police station on the basis of which the police started an investigation.

Police conducted a raid at the house of the accused Mojammel but he fled the house. He has been at large since the incident had taken place.
The victim has been living in fear that the accused might attack him again. He also expressed his fear to the police. Police are also investigating if there was any rivalry between the two. Police have started a detail probe into the incident. Raids are being conducted to nab the accused.
