Hakim slams BJP for trying to 'induct leaders from other parties'
Kolkata: State Urban Development and Municipal Affairs minister and Mayor Firhad Hakim on Friday criticised BJP for its dubious attempts to induct leaders from other parties.
Hakim also reminded that not a single Trinamool Congress leader will join BJP despite its attempts. He said: "Those who consider politics as business can shift their loyalty from one party to other. But those who have grown up with the ideals of Trinamool Congress will never join another party."
"Trinamool Congress was formed by Mamata Banerjee with values and ideals. Those who are familiar with the values propagated by our party will never join any other party. People of the state have seen how Banerjee has fought for them. They have seen how the developments have taken place in the state after Banerjee became the Chief Minister," Hakim said.
He also said that as the BJP has no foothold in the state, it would always try to induct leaders from other parties through various means. He also addressed the CPI-M leaders in this regard, saying: "How can the people who are supposed to believe in the communist ideology join a communal party like BJP?"
