Hakim calls for demolition of open reservoir inside housing complex

Kolkata: Mayor Firhad Hakim has instructed civic officials to demolish a reservoir inside a housing complex, which may serve as a potential breeding ground for dengue spreading mosquitoes.

While receiving telephone calls from people during the third session of 'Talk to Mayor', he received a call from a resident of Vasundhara apartment who complained that there was a water reservoir at the housing complex and the builder had kept a toilet under lock and key.

Hakim asked the civic officials to pull down the open reservoir as it might serve as a potential breeding ground for dengue spreading mosquitoes. He also asked the civic officials to break open the lock at the toilet.
