Strict action would be taken against the state government-sponsored school authorities who allegedly took more money than the stipulated fees fixed by the Bengal government.
The state education minister Partha Chatterjee on Monday said, the state government-sponsored schools that have taken more money than the actual school fees from the guardians will be punished.
The education minister recently came to know that some government-sponsored schools took Rs 3000 to Rs 4000 from the guardians. The annual fee of the state government sponsored schools is Rs 240.
The minister said that the district inspectors (Secondary) were asked point out those schools which took more money from the guardians that the actual fees.
The government has been making constant efforts in the field of education to make it reachable and free of malice.
