Girl trained in martial arts saves friend from eve-teasers

Kolkata: A class XII student from Birbhum's Santinketan, who has prior knowledge on martial arts, saved one of her classmates from a group of eve-teasers.

The girl, Paramita Dhar, came to know that one of her classmates was often abused by some local youths while returning home from school. As a result, Dhar decided to accompany her friend on her way home on Wednesday.

While they were on their way, two miscreants came on a motorcycle and stopped them.

As the duo started hurling abusive languages on the girl, Dhar protested against the incident. The accused continued and made indecent gesturs towards them. Dhar then kicked one of the accused on the back and he fell on ground. As he got up, Dhar punched him on his face. The other sitting on the motor cycle fled leaving the bike at the spot.

After seeing the incident, local residents came to the spot and caught the accused.

He was later handed over to the police.

They have started a probe and conducting raids to nab the other culprit.
