Girl dragged into room, sexually abused in Barupir

Kolkata: South 24-Parganas police have arrested a youth who allegedly physically abused a girl in his neighborhood.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by the family members of the victim, police have arrested the accused, identified as Suraj Kurni. The family members of the victim told the police that the incident took place on late Thursday evening when the victim, a resident of Baruipur was returning home from a private tuition.

When she was crossing the house of the accused, he allegedly dragged her into his house. According to the complaint, the accused dragged her into one of the rooms and started abusing her. The accused's mother helped him to commit the crime as she locked the door from outside. It is also alleged that the accused had poured beer on the girl and assaulted her physically. As the victim started shouting for help, Kurni's mother opened the door.

She fled from the house and rushed home. She narrated the whole incident to her family members. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment after she fell ill. The family members of the girl later lodged a complaint at the local police station on the basis of which the accused was arrested. Police have started a probe.
