Family robbed at Digha hotel
Kolkata: A family was robbed at a hotel in Digha on Thursday night. The family alleged that a few hotel employees are involved in the robbery.
According to sources, Sudip Ganguly, a resident of Baguiati, went to Digha with his
wife and two daughters and rented a room at a hotel at Barrister Colony in Old Digha on Thursday.
Ganguly said in the evening he along with his family members went out of the hotel for a walk.
After a few minutes they went back to the hotel, had dinner and went to sleep.
Around 2 pm, Ganguly woke up and saw someone was escaping out of the room.
He jumped out of the bed and turned the lights on but he couldn't find anyone. He noticed that the door of the room was open and their luggage and other bags were ransacked.
When he searched his bag, he found that some money and valuables were missing. Ganguly informed the hotel authorities, but allegedly they did not bother to take any action.
On Friday morning, Ganguly lodged a complaint at the Digha Coastal police station. It is suspected that someone had climbed the tree adjacent to the room and went inside through the balcony. Later, he opened the door to provide entry for other robbers. Till Friday night, one was arrested.
