Fake doctor arrested in Murshidabad

Kolkata: A fake doctor was arrested from Berhampore in Murshidabad.
The accused MJ Alam had been running a chamber called Fiaz health point at the Uttarpara area of Berhampore for past few years. There was a compounder at the health centre who used to assist the fake doctor. The accused had put a signboard outside his chamber where he claimed himself to be an MD doctor. The signboard stated that he obtained both the MD and MBBS degree from Kolkata. The accused had earned a good reputation as a doctor among the local people. The district health department suspected some of his activities and informed the matter to the local police station.
After being informed, police started a probe. They visited the chamber on Sunday morning and asked the accused to produce medical certificates. As he failed to produce any valid documents before the investigating officers, they arrested the accused and his assistance.
The fake doctor had failed to give satisfactory answers to the questions of the police and was subsequently arrested. The police have also seized several documents from his chamber. The police officer said that they found the degrees printed on his prescription.
According to the police, the accused was originally from Harish Chandra village in Malda while his assistance was from Harihar para in Murshidabad.
