Kolkata: The state Education department has expressed its dissatisfaction over the enquiry report of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) in connection with the alleged leak of question paper from a school at
Jalpaiguri's Maynaguri.
It is learnt that the report has given a clean chit to the headmaster of Maynaguri Subhasnagar High School Haridayal Roy, who was accused of opening the seal of the papers much before the scheduled time and had made question papers of more than one subject available to the first boy of the school, during the Madhyamik examination.
State Education minister Partha Chatterjee had directed president of WBBSE Kalyanmoy Ganguly to conduct a probe in the matter.
"I have visited Jalpaiguri last week and have completed the probe. Now, I will start preparing a report on this and will place it before the adhoc committee of the Board. The final decision regarding the case will be announced only after it is placed before the committee,"
Ganguly said.
The Board had conducted hearing with Roy and other teachers of the school in the Salt Lake office of the Board in the month of April and had prepared a report on the basis of the hearing earlier.
"The two reports will be corroborated before final one," a senior Board official added.
A number of teachers in the Maynaguri school had been vocal against Roy and told the Board that he had provided undue benefit to the first boy of the school by his act and demanded
exemplary punishment.
State Education minister Partha Chatterjee had condemned the incident and had said that if the accused
teacher is found guilty, then the Shisksha Ratna award conferred upon him will be taken back.
