Enforcement Directorate (ED) has served notice to the state Transport minister Suvendu Adhikari requesting him to appear at its office on July 24 in connection with the Narada case. It has been learnt that two state government ministers and a Member of Parliament have also been served notices by the ED requesting them to appear before them. ED has reportedly summoned another Minister of State who did not appear before the investigating officers of the Central agency when he was issued notice for the first time a few days ago.
In another development, the Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday interrogated the Narada news CEO Mathew Samuel at its Kolkata office in connection with the Narada sting operation. It was learnt from sources that he may be interrogated in the city till next Sunday in this connection.
The CBI may reconstruct the chain of incidents as to how Samuel met the ministers who were featured in the video footages captured at the time of the sting operation. The investigating officers may ask Samuel to visit the places he had gone to while shooting the videos to reconstruct the series of incidents. It may be mentioned that the CBI had earlier interrogated Samuel as well.
